This gateway device comprises: an address management means (5) that manages address information for enabling transmission from a second interface of the device itself and other devices; a first relay processing section (3) that, in cases where data received by the second interface is multicast data, adds, to the received multicast data, address information and a header conforming to a protocol of a non-band-sharing network, and outputs the multicast data to a first interface; and a second relay processing section (4) that, in cases where data received by the first interface includes address information, extracts only multicast data from data conforming to the protocol of a non-band-sharing network, and transmits the multicast data to the second interface. Thus, it is possible to achieve multicast communication in accordance with the range of addressing architecture, even in cases where collision domain division is performed for N facility networks (wherein N is a natural number of 2 or greater) having different addressing architectures by using greater than or equal to N+1 gateways. |
