A display device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an image determination unit (35) for determining whether or not an image tends to cause flickering; a display scheme switching unit (36) for switching between a first display scheme and a second display scheme in accordance with the determination results; and a source driver (23) for writing different potentials in a first pixel and a second pixel even when the gradations corresponding to the first pixel and the second pixel are the same in the second display scheme for images which tend to cause flickering.
