An anchor for a fall arrest or fall safety system, has an anchor plate 1 for securing to a structure and is formed to have an upwardly extending spine 2, which may be a fold in the plate material to give double thickness portions 2a,2b with an intervening gap 3, from which extend plateau portions 4a,4b with peripheral upturned wings or flanges 5a,5b provided with a pair of spaced securing formations such as apertures or holes. The low profile anchor may be for use in a system with containers, transportable units or other structures providing shear loading in the event of a fall arrest and also energy absorbing functionality by virtue of the plastically deformable nature of the spine of the anchor plate. |
