The present invention relating to an ice maker provides an individual controlling type ice maker and a driving method thereof. Especially, the ice maker equipped with a control unit does not require adjustment of a control algorithm or a circuit even when newly being applied to an existing low temperature storage unit, and this reduces the time and efforts needed for a user when a new ice maker is applied.
