<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous alloy essentially consists of Fe and having excellent castability and moldability, to provide an optical component using the amorphous alloy, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The amorphous alloy has compositional formula of Fe<SB>a</SB>-B<SB>b</SB>-Zr<SB>c</SB>-Ni<SB>d</SB>-Co<SB>e</SB>(a, b, c, d, e denote atomic composition percentage (at%); the relationships of 60.0≤a≤69.4, 22.3≤b≤29.3, 3.6≤c≤7.8, 3.0≤d≤7.0 and 0.5≤e≤2.0 are satisfied, and also, the total of a+b+c+d+e is≥99.8), and comprises elements other than the Fe, B, Zr, Ni and Co by <0.2 at%.
