<p>A foldable leg rest comprising a seat 10, a folding frame 20 pivotally connected to the front end of the seat 10 and a drive mechanism mounted between the folding frame and seat which has two linked actuator elements 30 and 40 and wherein the folding frame 20 can be pivoted to be in a horizontal plane in which the seat 10 lies and wherein the actuator elements 30 and 40 are pivotally connected to the seat and folding frame. The first actuator may 40 be a threaded rod with a cooperating hole whose movement is driven by a motor and the second 30 a motorized fader with a telescopic rod. A spring 60 may be provided which extends between the seat 20 and a joint 50 connecting the two actuators. The leg rest may be used as a vehicle chair or as part of a massage chair and may be mounted on a sliding base.</p> |
