Burner system with staged fuel injection

The system has a burner (2) with an inlet region for a combustion air stream, and a mixing zone situated downstream of the region. A combustion chamber is situated downstream of the mixing zone and a fuel introducing device is located upstream of the mixing zone. Another fuel introducing device (7) located downstream of the mixing zone directly injects fuel into the chamber. A sensor determines combustion performance parameters. A controller (12) is connected with the sensor and the latter introducing device. The controller controls the latter device based on the determined parameters. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a burner system.
