- a step of preparing the scrap in packs (2);

- a step of extracting the preheated scrap packs (2) from the preheating furnace (10) and conveying them toward an electric smelting furnace (30);
- a step of introducing the packs (2) of preheated scrap into the liquid metal bath (50) of the electric smelting furnace (30).
