A locator 50 for positioning a male element 44 relative to a female element 42 in a joint 32, the male element 44 having a smaller footprint than the female element 42 and the locator 50 comprising an aperture 56 for receiving the male element 44, the aperture 56 having a smaller footprint than the female element 42 and locating means 64 for positioning the locator 50 relative to the female element 42 of the joint 32 such that the aperture 56 of the locator 50 selectively exposes only a part of the female element 42 to ensure location of the male element 44 within the female element 42 in a desired position. The invention therefore provides a simple means of reliably positioning a male element 44 in a desired position relative to a female element 42 in a joint during an initial installation stage without the need to visualise the joint 32. The invention is particularly applicable to a joint 32 in a vehiclesuspension system between a frame 32 and a bolt 45 that supports a control arm (34 fig. 2A). |
