<p>A safety platform for a slurry pit with a fence 30 on at least one side, a frame 10 supporting the platform 2 over a pit, and access means 20 for an agitator or slurry pipe. The platform may cover only a portion of the tank. The cage may join a fence surrounding the remainder of the pit and be open at one side to allow constant access to the platform without requiring a gate. There may be a heavy hinged cover 20 with a weight greater than 20kg. A further lightweight safety cover (25 Fig. 2) and agitator opening may be underneath the hinged cover. There may be an opening for a slurry pipe covered by a flap 21. The support may have a plurality of members 11, 13 and 15 for attaching to pit wall. Vertical flanges 12 provide fastening means and are adjustable for wall thickness. There may be a lock and handle 26.</p> |
