<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can insert/withdraw an infrared light removal filter into/from an optical path and has a hybrid AF function in which accuracy deterioration of an AF operation is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are an imaging element 106 that performs photoelectric conversion on subject light entering from an imaging optical system including a focus lens 105 to generate a video signal, an infrared light removal filter 118 that removes an infrared light component included in the light entering the imaging element, a driving unit that inserts/withdraws the infrared light removal filter into/from an optical path, a first detection unit 112 that detects a focus state based on a contrast state of the video signal, a second detection unit 116 that detects a deviation amount of two images from a subject, and a focal point adjustment control unit that performs focal point adjustment by using at least one of information based on the first detection unit and information based on the second detection unit.
