<p>In a device for transferring a glass tube strand or a glass rod strand having a cross section different from a circular cross section and, especially, having an oval cross section, multiple support guidnace members (3) are arranged in order. As seeing in a moving direction of the glass tube strand or the glass rod strand, the moving glass tube strand or the glass rod strand (30) is directly supported and guided by the support guidance members. The support guidance members are inclined in the moving direction, so the moving glass tube strand or the glass rod strand (30) can be directly supported by the edges of the support guidance members. Thus, heat loss biased by heat dissipation via the support guidance members can be drastically reduced; thereby reducing the bending of the glass tube strand or the glass rod strand. Moreover, a method for transferring a glass tube strand or a glass rod strand is disclosed.</p> |
