<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately discriminate between electronic jamming and a receiver failure. <P>SOLUTION: This failure discrimination device for a tire pneumatic pressure monitor includes a transmitter installed in a tire and the receiver for receiving the radio wave including the information on tire pneumatic pressure transmitted from the transmitter. The failure discrimination device detects the intensity of the radio wave received by the receiver, detects the traveling conditions of a vehicle including the steering state and the traveling speed of the vehicle (S320, S330), and based on the traveling conditions, calculates three or more positions of the vehicle varying with the elapse of time (S342). The distance from the position of the vehicle to a radio wave transmission source which is in inverse proportion to a radio wave intensity detected by a radio wave intensity detection means is obtained at each of the three or more positions of the vehicle. An equal intensity area in which estimated distances from the positions of the vehicle to the radio wave transmission source are equal to each other is obtained at each position of the vehicle. When the equal intensity area at each position of the vehicle is brought into a predetermined matched state, the equal intensity area in the matched state is specified as a radio wave transmission source (S363).
