<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily allow switching between transmission of rotation and interruption thereof, in a clutch of a type transmitting rotation while locking a rolling element between an input-side member and an output-side member. <P>SOLUTION: A wedge-shaped space 14 gradually narrowed toward one end in an axial direction is formed between a cam surface 2a and the outer peripheral cylindrical surface of an output shaft 5 while providing an axial gradient with the inner peripheral cam surface 2a of the outer ring 2 of the input-side member 4. When a retainer 10 retaining balls 9 is pressed toward the narrow side of the wedge-shaped space 14 by a spring 15 and also the output shaft 5 is moved to the other end in the axial direction, a flange 5b formed in the center of the output shaft moves the retainer 10 against the elastic force of the spring 15 to the broad side of the wedge-shaped space 14. Only by the axial movement of the output shaft 5, the balls 9 are axially moved in the wedge-shaped space 14 and locked or unlocked. Therefore, it is possible to easily allow switching between transmission of the rotation and interruption thereof between the input-side member 4 and the output-side member 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
