493,539. Softening water. LAVECH, E. P. M. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 406. Void. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1936. [Class 46] Zeolites are regenerated after use for softening water by immersing the receptacle containing them in a bath of brine. A receptacle containing zeolite and having perforated or slotted walls maybe agitated in a body of water to be softened. The Figure shows a slotted receptacle attached to a funnel into which the water to be softened is poured. A cylindrical receptacle containing zeolite packed between perforated end plates may be attached to a tap, or arranged in connection with hot and cold taps so that water from the taps enters at the ends, softened water being drawn off from the middle. |
