PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OXC node which comes with a colorless and directionless add/drop port.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a K-input, K-output OXC node which permits selection of a path for an optical signal consisting of multiplexed N waves incorporates a K-input, 2K-output optical switch. This optical circuit includes L pieces of M-input, Q-output optical switch and Q pieces of L-input, 1-output wavelength multiplexer, where M and L are integers which satisfy M×L=N×K. Furthermore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a K-input, K-output OXC node which permits selection of a path for an optical signal consisting of multiplexed N waves incorporates a 2K-input, K-output optical switch. This optical circuit includes L pieces of Q-input, M-output optical switch and Q pieces of 1-input, L-output wavelength multiplexer, where M and L are integers which satisfy M×L=N×K. Such configuration makes it possible to provide an OXC node incorporating Q lines of colorless and directionless add/drop port. |
