PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a water stop portion of a wiring harness, which improves water stop material handleability, and can effectively impregnate the water stop material in gaps between a plurality of electric wires.SOLUTION: In the method for forming the water stop portion of a wiring harness W/H, each electric wire 11 of a wire bundle 10 in which the plurality of electric wires 11 are bundled is unbound, each gap between the unbound electric wires 11 is filled with a water stop material 20, subsequently each electric wire 11 is converged, and a water-stopping sheet 12 is wound around the electric wires, to form a water stop portion 14. The forming method includes the steps of vertically unbinding the plurality of electric wires 11, subsequently covering each of the vertically unbound electric wires 11 with the water stop material 20 of a solid state with release paper, which is formed into a sheet shape, impregnating the water stop material 20 in each gap between the vertically unbound electric wires 11 by pressurizing the sheet-shaped solid water stop material 20 while heating the material through the release paper with heating and pressurizing means from the outside, subsequently converging each of the electric wires 11 in which the water stop material 20 is impregnated in the gaps, and winding the water-stopping sheet 12 around the electric wires, so as to form the water stop portion 14. |
