<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated wire capable of reducing an environmental load using a recyclable biomass resource, and excellent in water resistance even when using the biomass resource. <P>SOLUTION: The insulated wire comprises an insulator consisting of a resin composition containing a biomass plastic and a vinyl chloride resin. The biomass plastic includes an aliphatic polyester, an aliphatic polyester derivative, a polysaccharide, and a polysaccharide derivative, etc.. The aliphatic polyester includes a polylactic acid, and a polybutylene succinate, etc.. The polysaccharide includes a cellulose etc..
