<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device having no machine room capable of increasing the height dimension of a balancing weight, in other words, increasing the weight of the balancing weight without increasing the dimension of a hoistway. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator device having no machine room comprises a return pulley supporting beam supported by a car guide rail and a balancing weight guide rail and arranged close to a top of a hoistway, a car side return pulley supported by the return pulley supporting beam with a part of a rope from a sheave to the car wound therearound, and a balancing weight side return pulley supported by at least one of the car guide rail and the balancing weight guide rail with a part of the rope from the sheave to the balancing weight being wound therearound.
