[Class 132 (i)] Comprises a frame 1, Fig. 1, carrying stirrups 3 and a seat 4 adjustable in height by plates 6. The seat is also adjustable longitudinally of the frame 1 by means of pins 5 to accommodate users of different height. In Fig. 2, the seat 4 is carried by parallel motion links 7 and is adjustable both longitudinally and in height by means of an adjustable strut 8. For rowing exercise the struts 8 are removed and the seat 4 oscillated by pulling on levers 11 in opposition to a spring 10, stops such as 9 limiting the seat movement in both directions. The levers 11 may be detachable and replaced by known devices for simulating the movements of rowing.</p> |
