The present invention relates to a mobile device and a method for operating the same, which can measure the touch pressure of touch input applied to a display by using a touchscreen panel and a voice recognition device. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a mobile device includes: a touchscreen panel which detects touch input to a display and outputs a coordinate value of the detected touch input; a voice recognition device which detects an audio signal; and a touch pressure detecting unit which calculates the touch pressure of the touch input based on the coordinate value and an audio level of the audio signal.
