1. A method comprising:
receiving writes, by a first storage system, from an external system; requesting, by the first storage system, an ordered index for the writes from an index generator; sending the writes by the first storage system to a second storage system; receiving writes from the second storage system; receiving, by the first storage system from the index generator independently of the writes from the second storage system, ordered indexes for the writes from the second storage system; storing the writes from the external system and the second storage system on the first storage system based on the indexes; and reporting a completion of the writes received from the external system to the external system after completion of the writes from the external system on the second storage system. |
