a first and second logical partition, each partition having allocated computing resources, wherein the computing resources allocated to the first logical partition include memory storing a file system accessible by processes executing in the first logical partition; and a partition resource allocator to migrate the memory storing the file system from the first logical partition to the second logical partition in response to a process executing in the first logical partition being migrated to the second logical partition, wherein the file system is accessible by processes executing in the second logical partition; the partition resource allocator further to determine a number of reallocatable units of memory necessary to hold the file system in the memory and move the file system within the memory to reside in a reduced number of units of memory sufficient to hold the file system. |
