Certain aspects of the present disclosure support techniques for cooperative beamforming based on inter-cell coordination. Signaling design allows coordinated downlink transmissions with reduced inter-cell interference.

1. A method for wireless communications, comprising:
receiving, at an apparatus, one or more spatial feedback information messages, wherein each spatial feedback information message comprises information about a channel between the apparatus and one user terminal from a set of user terminals; adjusting, by the apparatus, a beam direction based at least in part on one or more of the spatial feedback information messages; transmitting a reference signal comprising an indication about the beam direction for data transmission; transmitting, to the set of user terminals, a request to send at least one indication message about quality of one or more communication resources associated with the user terminals; receiving, from one or more user terminals from the set, one or more of the indication messages generated at least in part based on the reference signal; and scheduling, based on the received indication messages, transmission of data to at least one of the user terminals from the set using the beam direction.
