A blade removal tool to assist in removing a wind turbine blade from a mould, and a method for using such a tool. The method comprises: positioning a blade removal tool between the blade and the mould at a predetermined support point along the length of the blade; expanding the blade removal tool so that it supports at least a portion of the weight of the blade; lifting the blade removal tool so that the blade is moved away from the mould. Preferably, the blade removal tool comprises an expandable member, for example an inflatable bag, and a lifting harness associated with the expandable member. |
