ANTIMICROBIAL COPPER-CONTAINING FABRIC

There is disclosed an antimicrobial copper-containing fabric manufactured with treads and natural or synthetic filaments where there is incorporated cooper wire via a machine serving for the production of knitted cordons or via a twisting device. The diameter of the thread and the density of the produced fabric -density being defined either by the number of wefts or the number of knits per 10cm-characterise the weight and the quality of the fabric and determine the final use thereof. The advantages of said fabric are the following: no chemical methods neither mechanical deposition of cooperoxides on the raw material mass are used; the antimicrobial and antiviral protection properties of the cooper are not suppressed by repeated washings.
