Reciprocal mixing noise cancellation system

A system for cancellation of a reciprocal-mixing noise may comprise a down-converter mixer that may be configured to down convert a radio-frequency (RF) signal and to generate a baseband signal. The RF signal may include a desired signal and a blocker signal. A first signal path may be configured to receive the baseband signal and to generate a first signal. A second signal path may be configured to receive the baseband signal and to generate a second signal. A subtraction module may be configured to subtract the second signal from the first signal and to generate an output signal. The second signal may comprise the reciprocal-mixing noise, and the output signal may comprise the desired signal substantially free from the reciprocal-mixing noise.

1. A system for cancellation of a reciprocal mixing noise, the system comprising:
a down-converter mixer configured to down convert a radio-frequency (RF) signal including a desired signal and a blocker signal and to generate a baseband signal, wherein the baseband signal comprises the desired signal at approximately zero frequency overlapped with a spur signal including reciprocal-mixing noise, the blocker signal at a blocker frequency, and an image of the spur signal at a frequency approximately twice the blocker frequency; a first signal path configured to receive the baseband signal and to generate a first signal, wherein the first signal path comprises a first low-pass filter (LPF) configured to remove the image of the spur signal, and wherein the first signal comprises the desired signal overlapped with the reciprocal-mixing noise; a second signal path configured to receive the baseband signal and to generate a second signal; and a subtraction module configured to subtract the second signal from the first signal to generate an output signal, wherein, the second signal comprises the reciprocal mixing noise, and the output signal comprises the desired signal substantially free from the reciprocal mixing noise.
