摘要 A stereoscopic digital projection system that projects stereoscopic images including first-eye images and second-eye images. The system includes one or more narrow-band, solid-state, tunable light emitters, each being controllable to alternately provide emitted light in a first state in a corresponding first spectral band and emitted light in a second state in a corresponding second spectral band. An image forming system including at least one spatial light modulator is used to form modulated images by modulating light from the tunable lights emitters. A controller synchronously controls the state of the tunable light emitters and the spatial light modulator pixels, wherein the spatial light modulator pixels are controlled responsive to first-eye image data when the tunable light emitters are in the first state and are controlled responsive to second-eye image data when the tunable light emitters are in the second state.

A stereoscopic digital projection system that projects a stereoscopic image including a first-eye image and a second-eye image onto a display surface, comprising: one or more narrow-band, solid-state, switchable light emitters, each of the one or more switchable light emitters being switchable to alternately provide emitted light in a first state having a corresponding first spectral band with a respective first central wavelength and emitted light in a second state having a corresponding second spectral band with a respective second central wavelength, the first and second spectral bands being substantially non-overlapping; an image forming system including at least one spatial light modulator for forming modulated images by modulating light from the one or more switchable lights emitters, each spatial light modulator having an array of controllable spatial light modulator pixels; a controller that synchronously switches the state of each of the the one or more switchable light emitters between the first state and the second state and controls the spatial light modulator pixels, wherein the spatial light modulator pixels are controlled responsive to image data for the first-eye image when the one or more switchable light emitters are in the first state thereby providing a first-eye modulated image and the spatial light modulator pixels are controlled responsive to image data for the second-eye image when the one or more switchable light emitters are in the second state thereby providing a second-eye modulated image; and projection optics for delivering the first-eye modulated image and the second-eye modulated image to a display surface.
