POROUS CERAMICS MATERIALS AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The present invention relates to a porous ceramic material which improves insulating properties while minimizing decrease in mechanical strength. The porous ceramic material of the present invention includes zirconia granules which are formed by temporarily sintering spherical particles that have passed through a spray drying process to be formed into spherical particles and to limit excessive shrinkage, and fine zirconia powder which is mixed with the zirconia granules to surround the zirconia granules by main sintering. Moreover, the porous ceramic material may further include a pore forming agent which is mixed with the zirconia granules and the fine zirconia powder to form spherical pores on a sintered body by main sintering.
