A magnetic resonance examination system comprises a radio-frequency system for inducing resonance in polarised nuclear magnetic dipoles and receiving magnetic resonance signals from an object to be examined, a thermometry module to derive temperature distribution of the object to be examined from the magnetic resonance signals, the magnetic resonance examination system further comprising a photon-based hyperpolarisation device with a photon source for emitting electromagnetic radiation, a mode converter comprising a phase hologram to impart orbital angular momentum to the electromagnetic radiation, a spatial filter to select from the phase hologram a diffracted photon beam endowed with orbital angular momentum for polarising the nuclear magnetic dipoles via transferred orbital angular momentum.EFFECT: designing a magnetic resonance examination system based on hyperpolarisation via orbital angular momentum, which is capable of measuring temperature by a spatial decomposition method.3 cl, 2 dwg
