The present invention relates to a coating article and a coating method thereof. The coating article includes lignocellulosic biomass-derived phenolic compounds containing lignin in a coating layer, can be applied easily on a uniform thin film having a nano-thickness in a dip coating method regardless of the surface properties of the article, can include functional materials at the same time, thereby providing a variety of functionalities as well as hydrophilic properties. Moreover, the coating method improves economic efficiency and workability using materials which have low manufacturing costs and are easily handled even though it has the same level of coating strength when compared with an existing coating method using poly dopamine.
