The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing an extract of Kaempferia parviflora for skin whitening and, more specifically, to a natural substance-derived cosmetic composition for skin whitening capable of eliminating free radicals and inhibiting tyrosinase activities using an extract of Kaempferia parviflora. The cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains the extract of Kaempferia parviflora as an active ingredient. The cosmetic composition containing the extract of Kaempferia parviflora does not cause a skin irritation by using a natural extract and makes skin smooth and lustrous by protecting the skin from external stimulus, and provides excellent whitening and anti-oxidation effects, thereby being very effective in skin whitening and protection.
