A method for manufacturing a solar cell according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: laminating a first protection layer which includes silicon nitride on a first surface of a photoelectric layer which includes germanium; and thermally processing a laminate which includes the photoelectric conversion layer and the first protection layer under an oxygen atmosphere.
