In this communication terminal (2), a power reception circuit (21) is connected to a two-wire transmission line (3) via branch ends (P1, P2), and is configured so as to receive electric power supplied from the transmission line (3). A transmission circuit (22) is connected between the branch ends (P1, P2), and is configured so as to transmit an electric-current mode signal onto the transmission line (3) by making a short circuit between the branch ends. An intermediate circuit (23) includes a series circuit of an inductor (L1) and a capacitor (C1), is connected in parallel to the transmission circuit (22) between the branch ends (P1, P2), and is interposed between the branch ends (P1, P2) and the power reception circuit (21).
