PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport device and an image reader such that a separation pad can be directly attached to and detached from an enclosure.SOLUTION: When a fixation member 60 is arranged at a fixation position shown by (A), an engagement part 52 engages a recessed part 39 and the fixation member 60 is stably held at the fixation position. At this time, a contact part 51 comes into contact with a contact surface 21A of a separation pad 21 downstream in a sheet transportation direction from a projection 31A engaging a hole of a separation pad pair 20, and receives restoring force of a leaf spring 50 to be pressed against the contact surface 21A. Consequently, the projection 31A and the hole cannot be disengaged from each other, and the separation pad pair 20 is excellently fixed to a support surface 31. When the fixation member 60 is arranged at an attachment/detachment position shown by (B), the fixation member 60 does not come into contact with the separation pad 21 and the separation pad pair 20 can be attached to and detached from the support surface 31. |
