PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor with improved sealability and electrical connectivity.SOLUTION: An outer sleeve 46 and a rubber stopper 60 are swaged together at two sections, a swage section A on a side of connection points 52a between contact metal fittings of a connector 50 and lead wires 48 and a swage section B on a side of an opening end 46a of the outer sleeve 46 from the swage section A, such that an inner diameter &phgr;A of the outer sleeve 46 at the swage section A is larger than an inner diameter &phgr;B of the outer sleeve 46 at the swage section B. This means that the swage section B is swaged more tightly than the swage section A, which improves sealability and thus prevents deterioration of detection accuracy of a sensor. Also, swaging the swage section A less tightly compared with the swage section B prevents the connection points 52a and the lead wires 48 from being subjected to excessive force, thereby preventing poor connection between the connector 50 and the lead wires 48. |
