The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery negative electrode material, said method being excellent in yield. The problem can be solved by a method for manufacturing the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery negative electrode material, said method being characterized by comprising: (1) a pulverization step of pulverizing a carbonaceous precursor to obtain pulverized particles; (2) a particle shaping step of shaping the pulverized particles to obtain shaped particles; (3) a particle trimming step of trimming the shaped particles to remove fine powder and obtain trimmed shaped particles; and (4) a step of burning the trimmed shaped particles. |
