PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise by suppression noise when a gap is adjusted in a recording apparatus including a configuration for shifting a gap adjusting cam to adjust a gap.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus includes: a carriage; a slide member enabled to shift a relative position with a carriage body in a direction of allowing a gap between a recording head and a medium to be changed; a guide member for receiving a self-weight of the carriage via the slide member; a gap adjusting cam for changing the gap by shifting the cam relatively to the slide member and carriage body; and a cam engagement part that shifts with the gap adjusting cam. Further, the gap adjusting cam includes: a stepwise cam surface where a first cam surface for changing the gap and a second cam surface for maintaining the gap are alternatively arranged; and control means of the carriage controls so that a carriage speed when the cam engagement part passes through a connection portion between the first and second cam surfaces lower than a speed when the cam engagement part slides with the first and second cam surfaces. |
