PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trivalent chromium plating film which suppresses the occurrence of through cracks extending from the surface of the film to the boundary surface of a substrate and a sliding member coated with the trivalent chromium plating film.SOLUTION: A composite hard chromium plating film is obtained by dispersing a plate- and/or fiber-like second phase in a chromium plating bath using trivalent chromium as a chromium source and carrying out a plating treatment to disperse the plate- and/or fiber-like second phase in a hard chromium plating film so as to suppress the progression of cracks in the hard chromium plating film by stopping the propagation of cracks with the plate- and/or fiber-like second phase dispersed or deflecting the cracks and thereby suppressing expansion of the crack width. |
