The invention relates to a bearing component (1) and a method to form a bearing component. The bearing component comprises a first (2) and a second metallic material (3) wherein the first material (2) presents a first carbon content (4) and the second (3) material presents a second carbon content (5), wherein -the first (2) and the second material (3) have been joined by a diffusion welding process. The diffusion welding process has resulted in a transition zone (6) with a varying carbon content between the first (2) and the second material (3). The varying carbon content in the transition zone (6) is essentially within an interval (7), wherein the interval end points are defined by the carbon content of the first (2) and the second material (3). |
