The invention discloses a method for treating an animal substrate comprising: agitating the moistened animal substrate with a treatment formulation and a solid particulate material in a sealed apparatus. The treatment formulation can be aqueous or waterless. The animals substrate can be skin or hide. The animal substrate can be leather. The animal substrate can be a textile fibre, in particular, wool. The treatment formulation can comprise a colourant or a tanning agent. There is also disclosed an animal substrate obtained by the method. |
