PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball excellent in a carry of a driver shot.SOLUTION: A golf ball includes a spherical core 4, and a cover 12 of at least one or more layers coating the spherical core 4. The spherical core 4 is formed from a rubber composition which contains base rubber, α,&bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid of a carbon number of 3-8 and/or its metallic salt, organic peroxide expressed by the general formula (1), and aliphatic carboxylic acid and/or its salt, and further contains a metallic compound in the case of containing only the α,&bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid of a carbon number of 3-8. A hardness difference (Hs-Ho) between a surface hardness (Hs) and a center hardness (Ho) of the spherical core is equal to or more than 12 on JIS-C hardness. |
