<p>Disclosed is a method for producing 2-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)imidazole and/or an acid salt thereof, which comprises a step of producing 2-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)imidazole represented by general formula (4) and/or an acid salt thereof from a tetrahydropyran-4-dialkoxyethylcarboxyamidine compound represented by general formula (3) (wherein R2's independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, in which the two R2's may be the same as or different from each other and may be bound to each other to form a ring) or an acid salt thereof in the presence of an acid and water.</p> |
