A remote control apparatus which controls a display apparatus is provided. The remote control apparatus includes a body having a roly-poly shape, a sensor which senses a motion of the body, and a controller which transmits a signal which corresponds to a sensed result of the sensor and controls operations of the display apparatus. The controller determines a user interaction according to a sensed result of the sensor, and reads from a storage a control command which corresponds to the user interaction and transmits the read control command to the display apparatus.
