PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, a display method and a program capable of increasing the operability in proximity operation and contact operation by utilizing an interface display such as magnification adjustment interface.SOLUTION: A display device 1 includes: a control section 2; a storage 3; a display section 4; a display processing section 5; a sensor section 6; a coordination acquisition section 7; a reference position determination section 8; and a specific area determination section 9. A user positions an instruction medium 20 above the display section 4 and holds the instruction medium 20 at a close position at, for example, a point on a map displayed on the display section 4 to be desirably enlarged. Receiving a detection signal from the sensor section 6, the display processing section 5 displays an interface 30 capable of an expansion operation etc. on the map in the vicinity of the instruction medium 20 based on the acquired positional coordinates. The user is allowed to perform a contact operation such as touch, slide and flick on the interface 30 to expand/contract of the map.
