<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can prevent a fixing roller from being heated beyond a heatproof temperature and damaged even in the situation in which: when power supply to the fixing device is stopped, for example, when power outage occurs or abnormality occurs to a power supply path for some reason, the fixing roller stops the rotation; and even when the power supply is stopped, a heating material is maintained at a high temperature due to remaining heat, and thereby the fixing roller is continued to be heated at a portion in contact with the heating material.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a pressure control unit 157 that controls, when the fixing device is supplied with power, a pressure unit to press a fixing roller 151 against a heating unit 153, and controls, when the fixing device is not supplied with power, the pressure unit to be separated from the fixing roller 151.</p> |
