<p>The present invention discloses a method and device for controlling shifting of an automatic transmission for a vehicle. According to the present invention, the device for controlling shifting of an automatic transmission performs a downshift pattern of a secondary braking system having a target shifting position lower than the defined downshift pattern according to the shifting pattern and vehicle deceleration stored by vehicle speed when the road is rough and the driver puts on the brakes in accordance with the braking request of the driver. Also, the device improves shifting quality downgraded by the downshift pattern when receiving the braking request of the driver on a rough road. In addition, the device maintains the secondary braking mode for a predetermined time period and then ends the secondary braking mode when the foot of the driver leaves from the brake pedal by acceleration of the driver while the driver is putting on the brakes, thereby maintaining constant speed of the vehicle. Therefore, shifting quality downgraded by frequent upshift patterns generated during a cruise control mode can be fundamentally improved.</p> |
