<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for producing hydrogen gas useful as a reducing material, by suppressing COformation, from coal carbonization gas.SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing hydrogen gas includes a coal carbonization furnace for producing coal carbonization gas equipped with means of reducing moisture of the coal carbonization gas, a carbonization furnace that carbonizes at least part of hydrocarbons in the coal carbonization gas and discharges a gas containing thus produced hydrogen gas as reformed gas, and reformed gas recovery means of recovering the reformed gas, which are arranged in this order. The apparatus further includes a solid carbon holding mechanism 30 which is provided in a reaction zone in the carbonization furnace 4 and holds solid carbon so as to bring the solid carbon into contact with the coal carbonization gas 14, and a solid carbon separating mechanism 31 for removing at least part of the solid carbon of an equivalent temperature to a furnace temperature produced in the reaction zone from at least the reaction zone in the carbonization furnace 4 and recovering it as solid carbon 8 to a non-reaction part 35 in the carbonization furnace 4.</p> |
