PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for electrochemical cells which has an identification mark that can be recognized from the outside and that is difficult to forge.SOLUTION: The packaging material consists of a multilayer film which has a structure formed by laminating a substrate layer 11, an adhesive layer 13, a metal foil layer 12, an acid-modified polyolefin layer 14, and a heat-bondable resin layer 15 in this order. The substrate layer 11 comprises a stretched polyester film 11b and a stretched nylon film 11e. A printed layer 11c is provided on a stretched nylon film 11e-side surface of the stretched polyester film 11b.
