PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure a visual line accurately in a wide view angle.SOLUTION: A visual line detection method of a visual line detection device 1 that measures movement of an eyeball of a subject 3 and detects a gazing point gazed by the subject 3 from a measurement result of the movement of the eyeball using relationship information representing a relationship between the movement of the eyeball and the gazing point, includes the steps of: a calibration process for measuring the movement of the eyeball of the subject 3 when the subject 3 changes a direction of a visual line by moving a head while gazing a predetermined index to calibrate the relationship information on the basis of the measurement result of the movement of the eyeball; and a visual line detection process for measuring the movement of the eyeball of the subject 3 to detect the gazing point from the measurement result of the movement of the eyeball using the relationship information after the calibration.
